Through our TM shelter Project, we hope to help reduce the rising level of homelessness. Our target community is within the Medway Towns, especially Gillingham, Chatham, Strood and Rochester.
We have a number of Sheltered Homes where we not only provide our vulnerable single homeless people with the shelter they need but also give them support in terms of providing them with opportunities to attend various accredited life skills programmes.
With our support they are able to maintain their tenancy as well as start taking control of their finances. We help engage them and motivate them to pursue fulfilling career paths.
EXAMPLES OF OUR SHELTERS AND ACCOMODATION FOR VULNERABLE, SINGLE, HOMELESS AND UNEMPLOYED PEOPLE INCLUDE THE ONES LISTED BELOW
This is a homeless shelter with 6 bed spaces. This shelter enables us to take single vulnerable people off the streets into a temporary safe home. They are looked after by groups of volunteers who help them by offering food and helping them with various advice regarding tapping into benefits gaining skills, training access, sign posting into organisations that help with mental health and addiction issues. From here our service users are moved into permanent accommodation and are helped out of unemployment.
