Summer 2019 with NCS Students
During the summer of 2019 a group of NCS students from the local Medway area chose to sponsor the Taramartins Community Project as their charity for two weeks.
This group of smart and hardworking students helped us to revamp one of our shelters for temporary rough sleepers to stay. They also helped to organise our events such as sponsored walks and bake sales. The students also helped in the Taramartins Community Project Charity Shop to prepare items for the shelter.
One of the students said,
“I really enjoyed volunteering at Taramartins Community Project because it really helped me become more confident. I was able to go out into the community and speak up and raise awareness about the amount of rough sleepers in Chatham. Yes, I really enjoyed this experience!”
